So now that Google has announced its terrible decision to retire Google Reader, some of you might be interested in a different way to get my content. Of course, my RSS feed is still good and will work on whatever reader you decide to switch to, but you can also subscribe to my posts through email delivered by FeedBurner.

Professional updates:

I have a few stories in the works/forthcoming on travel and on cancer. Exciting! Some of them have yet to be written and some of them are already on their way to publication. After the winter of my discontent in which I couldn’t get anything on the page, it’s exciting to know that some stuff is coming down the pipe. I may be an editor but I got into this because I love writing Gilmore Girls fan fic stories that are important.

I’m speaking at the Creative Nonfiction Collective conference in April in Banff! I’ll be on the plenary panel talking about how digital media has influenced book and magazine publishing. I’m excited to get to stay at the Banff Centre, which is a hub for serious creativity in Western Canada.

Avenue magazine is nominated for Best Digital Presence at the Alberta Magazine Publishers Association Awards, alongside Wine Access and up!. It’s awesome that the RedPoint web team keeps getting recognized and I’m super proud of the work we do.
