I’m a writer and editor of the new media persuasion living in Calgary, Alberta.

I’ve written about a cancelled homeless outreach program, why teen magazines are bad, a profile of an acclaimed Canadian winery and a defense of Calgary’s culture. Among other things.

I’m the web editor for Wine Access magazine and a co-host of Yeah, What She Said, Calgary’s only feminist/women’s radio program. I’m also a weekend news curator for OpenFile Calgary.

I graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and I still miss Montreal.

    Allison,

your view on Eat Pray and Love is right on the money I totally agree with the fact that this encompasses feminism. It is hard to put ourselves first in any reality whether it be work, home life, relationships, family etc….She did the unthinkable but what we all really dream about, she let go of her fears, worries and restrictions and embraced risk, possibilities and the pursuit of happiness.

Thanks for this blog :) )

      Hi Gail,

Thanks very much for your comment! I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the post. And I agree, letting go of fear and chasing your own happiness is just about the most feminist act there is.
